IP Telephony on the Trading Floor - Tom Wimshurst, Business Development Manager, IP Trade
Traditional voice trading systems have for many years relied on proprietary central equipment that is more often than not a single point of failure, which integrates poorly to back-office telephony systems and is difficult and expensive to manage. IP Trade was founded to tackle these problems and the maturity of IP and emergence of SIP has allowed them to develop a powerful solution. IP Trade have developed a fully functional trading turret that supports 27 simultaneous voice streams but which connects directly into most leading SIP enabled PBXs. In using the likes of Cisco Call Manager, IP Trade provide clients with a single call control platform for the enterprise, as well as the ability to distribute voice trading resources across the corporate network to obtain maximum resilience. This allows clients to support multiple trading floors within a single cluster and build a very powerful DR solution, as well as provide inherent flexibility to support branch offices and remote sites.
